HIGHER STANDARDS

The Face of World Pageant was developed to have higher standards than other pageant systems. The focus behind Face of World Pageant is to showcase single women, who are 19 to 29 years old by competition year, and are a resident of the state or a citizen of the country that they represent. Each contestant competes in Interview Competition which is valued at 40% of their total score, Evening Gown, valued for 20%, Fitness Wear for 20%, and Fun Fashion Wear 20%. Each contestant has the opportunity to select a platform of her choice, that she spends the year promoting.

FACE of WORLD doesn't just focus on the all important DRESS, we know that true beauty comes from within. So,to encourage our girls to reach their full potential, FACE of WORLD raises awareness and much needed funds for selected charities to help other's dreams come true too.

Kristen Dalton of North Carolina was crowned Miss USA on April 19, 2009, in Las Vegas. She will represent the United States at Miss Universe 2009. According to pageant officials, her mother was Miss North Carolina USA in 1982 and her sister was Miss North Carolina Teen USA in 2008. The first runner-up was Miss California USA, Carrie Prejean, and the second runner-up was Miss Arizona USA, Alicia-Monique Blanco. The third runner-up was Miss Utah USA, Laura Kirilova Chukanov, and the fourth runner-up was Miss Kentucky USA, Maria Elizabeth Montgomery. Others in the top 10 were Chanley Painter of Arkansas, Jessi Pierson of West Virginia, Kristen Motil of Tennessee, Brooke Daniels of Texas and Stephanie Smith of South Carolina. The rest of the top 15 were Monica Mary Pietrzak of Connecticut, Melissa Weber of Idaho, Kimberly Gittings of Georgia, Erica Nego of Minnesota and Maegan Elizabeth Phillips of Virginia. Ms. Pierson was chosen Miss Photogenic USA, from an interactive vote by the public. Cynthia Pate of Wyoming was chosen Miss Congeniality USA by a vote of fellow contestants.
